Skillet Buttermilk Brownies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • powdered sugar

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
  2. In large bowl, whisk sugar and eggs. In another bowl, whisk flour, cocoa and salt.
  3. In medium ovenproof nonstick skillet, bring butter and buttermilk to a simmer over medium heat.
  4. Add chocolate and reduce to medium-low.
  5. Cook until chocolate has melted, stirring constantly.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool 5 minutes.
  7. Add chocolate mixture to sugar mixture.
  8. Whisk until blended.
  9. Fold in flour mixture.
  10. Pour batter into skillet.
  11. Bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean (about 40 minutes).
  12. Dust with powdered sugar and serve from the skillet warm.
