How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
  • In large bowl, whisk sugar and eggs. In another bowl, whisk flour, cocoa and salt.
  • In medium ovenproof nonstick skillet, bring butter and buttermilk to a simmer over medium heat.
  • Add chocolate and reduce to medium-low.
  • Cook until chocolate has melted, stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and let cool 5 minutes.
  • Add chocolate mixture to sugar mixture.
  • Whisk until blended.
  • Fold in flour mixture.
  • Pour batter into skillet.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean (about 40 minutes).
  • Dust with powdered sugar and serve from the skillet warm.
