How to make it

  • Heat oven to 350 then grease rectangular baking pan.
  • In large bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt then mix well.
  • In another large bowl combine brown sugar, sugar and butter then beat until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs 1 at a time beating well after each addition then add vanilla and blend well.
  • Gradually add flour mixture then blend at low speed just until combined.
  • Fold in cranberries, walnuts and 1-1/2 cups vanilla chips.
  • Spread batter in greased pan and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
  • In small saucepan over low heat melt reserved vanilla chips and shortening stirring occasionally.
  • Drizzle over warm bars then cool 1 hour then cut into bars.
