Kale Soup Recipe

Ingredients

1 bunch of washed, dried, and shredded kale

1/2 head of shredded savoy cabbage

1 (15 oz) can of drained garbanzo beans

5 cubed Yukon Gold potatoes

2 pork chops

a dash of salt and pepper

3 tbsp. of Pimenta Moida (Portuguese hot chopped peppers)

1 medium chopped onion

3 cloves of minced garlic

4 tbsp. of olive oil

1 lb. Portuguese chourico(broken into large chunks)

2 (15 oz.) cans of drained kidney beans

Directions

Add olive to a pan over medium flame.

Saute garlic until tender.

Now add in the choirico, beans, potatoes, and then the pork chops.

Add a dash of salt and pepper to taste, and then cover with water.

Add a lid and boil until potatoes are tender.

Now after potatoes are tener, add the Pimenta Moida(with a pinch of more salt and pepper.)

Let this boil for a couple of minutes, then add kale, cooking for about 5 min.

Serve!

I live in Western Massachusetts in a town that has a large Portugese population. We have lots of chorico in our local grocery store and I have made and eaten lots of kale soup. Your recipe is very unusual, hearty, and sounds delicious. Thanks for a great post.
