Beefy Potato Pie Recipe
BEEFY POTATO PIE This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Tinsley Estate in Venus, Texas in 1987.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound lean beef cubed
  • 1 tablespoon fat
  • 3 cups cubed potatoes
  • 1-1/2 cups fresh or canned peas
  • 4 small onions
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • Biscuit dough

Directions
  1. Cook beef in fat until lightly browned then add water to cover.
  2. Put on a lid and simmer beef until almost tender about 45 minutes.
  3. Add potatoes, peas, onions and water to cover vegetables.
  4. Cook 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender then make paste of flour and water.
  5. Add a little hot liquid from stew then add paste to stew stirring constantly.
  6. Season with salt and pepper then pour hot mixture into greased baking dish.
  7. Top with biscuit rounds then bake at 425 for 25 minutes.
