How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 375 then grease two large baking sheets.
  • Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
  • In a large bowl beat eggs and 1/2 cup of the sugar until well blended.
  • Beat in 1/4 cup wine, oil and vanilla then stir in dry ingredients.
  • Divide dough into 6 pieces and cut each one into 8 pieces.
  • Roll each piece between your palms into 4” log and shape into ring pinching edges together.
  • Place remaining 1/2 cup sugar and remaining 1/4 cup wine in two small bowls.
  • Dip one side of each cookie first in wine then in sugar.
  • Place cookies sugar side up 1” apart on baking sheets then bake 20 minutes.
  • Transfer to wire racks to cool.
