How to make it

  • In a large sauce pan, over medium to medium-high heat, simmer apples and juice for 15 minutes, covered (or until apples easily give with fork).
  • Sprinkle with 1.5 tbsp sugar, and mash with potato masher or large fork, until sauce reaches desired consistency (I like mine very chunky).
  • Taste and adjust sugar to your liking.
  • Allow to cool 10 minutes before serving warm, or completely before refrigerating.

    Fixed this that night I saw the recipe. Hubby said get more apples and fix again for pie filling!!!!!!!!!! Great recipe.
