15 Minute Apple Sauce Recipe

15 Minute Apple Sauce Recipe
So much better than the bottled version, this applesauce can be whipped up while you are making the rest of dinner. If you make a larger amount, it will take longer than the 15 minutes stated.

Ingredients
  • 6 large apples, peeled, cored, and quartered (a variety works well)
  • 3 tbsp apple juice, apple cider, or orange juice (or water in a pinch)
  • 3 tbsp sugar (more or less to taste, depending on the sweetness of the apples)

Directions
  1. In a large sauce pan, over medium to medium-high heat, simmer apples and juice for 15 minutes, covered (or until apples easily give with fork).
  2. Sprinkle with 1.5 tbsp sugar, and mash with potato masher or large fork, until sauce reaches desired consistency (I like mine very chunky).
  3. Taste and adjust sugar to your liking.
  4. Allow to cool 10 minutes before serving warm, or completely before refrigerating.

This is so simple and easy to cut down depending on how many apples you have.
