Ingredients
  • a large five gallon pot almost full of water (i use an aluminum turkey pot on my propane corn boiler
  • all the bones you can get in the pot ( beef or pork, whatever you can get from the butcher or grocery store and you can boil together) and i only use fresh bones

Directions
  1. just so the water is bubbling boil the bones for 3.5 to 4 hrs
  2. scoop off the foam as it boils every once in awhile and discard
  3. when time is complete remove bones, feed em to fido
  4. strain the water through a collander -there is always some stuff in the bottom of the pot
  5. this water you can now use to make any soup of your choosing. its laced with flavor and your yard smells good while your doing it.
  6. i end up with about two kool-aid pitchers full of starter water

Hi There Troutwhisperer - I do something similar except I bake the bones in the oven till brown and it gives it a nice brown color and a little more depth of flavor! Never have done it outside - but with my turkey burner and pan, will definitely be trying it out.
