Hungarian Plum Dumplings Recipe
This a great comfort food my family enjoys, and it's fun to eat!

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 dozen Free stone plums, washed split and pitted
  • 4-5 medium potatoes
  • 1 Egg
  • 4 cups Flower, unsifted
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Bread crumbs
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamin
  • Salt

Directions
  1. mix some sugar and cinnamin into a bowl, and add pulms coating well and set aside.
  2. Peel and cook poteatoes in salted water untill soft.
  3. Drain and mash potatoes.
  4. On a kneading board place fower and salt, add warm mashed potatoes. Make a well and add egg, then knead gently untill all is blended.
  5. On a clean floured surface roll out dough to 1 1/2" thick, and cut into 4" squares.
  6. Fill squares with the cinnamin sugar plums (1/2 plum per square) pinch corners together and roll into dumpling.
  7. Cook dumpling in salted water about 10 min. Remove and put into oiles pan to keep warm
  8. Roast bread crumbs in a lightly greased frying pan untill golden brown.
  9. Serve dumpling on plate and top with bread crums and sprinkle a little sugar over top.
