Use tofu for this tasty fried treat. A vegetarian recipe for fish balls. Fried crispy with a soft center, these taste great with the sauce you want to add such as sweet and sour or a peanut based satay sauce

Ingredients
  • 1 packet firm beancurd (Tofu )
  • 1 egg
  • gluten flour ( not soft wheat or cake flour )
  • a small bunch of finely minced coriander/cilantro leaves
  • seasoning to taste -
  • oil for deep frying
  • accompaniement; sweet and sour sauce or satay sauce

Directions
  1. Drain Tofu well
  2. Mash the beancurd, add in the beaten egg, seasoning and
  3. minced coriander leaves.
  4. Mix well and slowly add the flour until the mixture forms a soft dough.
  5. (Note: the more flour you add, the more springy the
  6. mock fish ball will be).
  7. Now divide into small portion equivalent to size of a
  8. fishball and shape it into rounds.
  9. Heat oil and fry the balls until golden brown.
  10. Serve with your favourite sauce or eat as it is.
