Rich Chocolate Torte

- Cake: shopping list
- 90 g dark chocolate,chopped shopping list
- 125 g butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1/4 cup powdered coffee creamer shopping list
- 1 3/4 cup flour, sifted shopping list
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 125 ml water shopping list
- Topping: shopping list
- 2 Tbs sour cherry marmalade shopping list
- 2 Tbs rum shopping list
- Glaze: shopping list
- 3/4 cup icing sugar, sifted shopping list
- 2 Tbs powdered coffee creamer shopping list
- 2 Tbs baking cocoa shopping list
- 2 Tbs hot water ( or as needed ) shopping list
- 20 g soft butter shopping list
How to make it
- preheat oven to 160C ( approx 325F )
- grease and flour a round cake pan, 23 cm
- Line with greased paper
- melt chocolate in the microwave
- Beat butter and sugar well
- Gradually beat in the eggs
- Blend in the chocolate and mix well
- Gradually beat in water and dry ingredients into chocolate mixture
- Place mixture in the prepared pan and smooth out evenly
- Bake about 20 minutes or tested done in center
- Cool 10 minutes and remove from the pan
- Boil topping ingredients and pour over cake
- Let cool completely
- Then glaze cake and let glaze set
- For glaze: Mix all glaze ingredients to make preferred consitency and pour over cake
- Note: if desired, split cake, fill with marmalade rum topping and add other half of cake and pour glaze over top of cooled cake
