How to make it

  • Cream together the butter and sugar.
  • Add egg and set aside.
  • Cut dates in small pieces and add soda and water to the dates. Mix.
  • Add to butter/sugar/egg mixture.
  • Add flour and vanilla and nuts.
  • Mix well.
  • Pour into a well greased 2X10 inch tube pan.
  • Bake at 375F.
  • No baking time was given. I would guess 45-70 minutes.
