How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 170C.
  • Butter a 20cm cake tin and line the base with baking paper.
  • Place the butter, sugar, water, cocoa, chocolate and bicarbonate of soda in a medium saucepan stirring constantly. Bring to boil.
  • When the mixture starts to rise, take it off the stove and set aside to cool.
  • Beat eggs in a large bowl.
  • Sift in a bit of the flour and mix into the eggs. Then add some chocolate mixture. Repeat this process until everything is combined.
  • Pour into the cake tin and bake for 45~55mins or until skewer comes out clean.
  • Cool on a wire rack and ice if you want.
