Chocolate Cake

- 125g butter shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 2 tbsp cocoa shopping list
- 1/4 cup chocolate melts (optional) shopping list
- 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup self-raising flour shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 170C.
- Butter a 20cm cake tin and line the base with baking paper.
- Place the butter, sugar, water, cocoa, chocolate and bicarbonate of soda in a medium saucepan stirring constantly. Bring to boil.
- When the mixture starts to rise, take it off the stove and set aside to cool.
- Beat eggs in a large bowl.
- Sift in a bit of the flour and mix into the eggs. Then add some chocolate mixture. Repeat this process until everything is combined.
- Pour into the cake tin and bake for 45~55mins or until skewer comes out clean.
- Cool on a wire rack and ice if you want.
