How to make it

  • Pre heat oven to 350*F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Beat butter with sugars until pale and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and blend well.
  • Sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder spices and salt.
  • Stir flour mixture into butter mixture until blended. Stir in almonds.
  • Shape dough into 2 logs and flatten slightly. Bake 40mins.
  • Remove and cut on bias and reduce heat to 325*F and return to oven for 15mins.
