Golden Currant Pilaf With Cinnamon

- 3/4 cup chopped white onion shopping list
- 2 teaspoons olive oil shopping list
- 1 cup uncooked long grain white rice shopping list
- 2 cups homemade chicken broth shopping list
- 1/2 cup dried currants shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 cup packed chopped fresh parsley shopping list
How to make it
- Sauté onion in oil in a medium saucepan over medium low heat until tender about 5 minutes.
- Add rice then cook 1 minute and stir in broth, currants, turmeric, cinnamon and salt.
- Bring to a boil then reduce heat and cover then simmer 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat then let stand covered for 5 minutes and stir in parsley.
