Festive Appetizer Spread Recipe
A spread thar is made during festivals for everyone to consume as an appetizer

Ingredients
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 12 oz. pkg. fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup apricot preserves
  • 2 Tbs. lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds, toasted
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • Assorted crackers

Directions
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, bring water and sugar to a boil
  2. without stirring; boil for 5 minutes. Add cranberries; cook until
  3. berries pop and sauce is thickened, about 10 minutes. Remove from the
  4. heat. Cut apricots in the preserves into small pieces; add to
  5. cranberry mixture. Stir in lemon juice. Cool. Add almonds. Spoon
  6. over cream cheese; serve with crackers. Store leftovers in the
  7. refrigerator. Yield: about 3 cups.
  8. Note: This sauce may also be served as an accompaniment to poultry or pork.
