Penne With Sausage

- 1-1/2 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons olive oil shopping list
- 1 white onion chopped shopping list
- 1/2 carrot diced shopping list
- 1 bay leaf shopping list
- 1/3 cup bacon chopped shopping list
- 1/2 pound spicy hard italian sausage shopping list
- 14 ounce can plum tomatoes shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper shopping list
- 1 pound penne pasta shopping list
- 1 tablespoon fresh marjoram chopped shopping list
How to make it
- Combine butter and oil in large skillet and cook onion, carrot and bay leaf in butter.
- Add bacon and sausage and cook until browned stirring frequently.
- Drain half the can of tomatoes and add them to the pan.
- Season with salt and pepper then simmer 30 minutes over a low heat adding stock gradually.
- Cook penne in boiling lightly salted water until just done then drain well.
- Add marjoram to sauce and toss together with cooked penne.
