Nice to meet you all!
I went to a new restaurant in our town today and they claim that the meat is smoked. They have a small smoker in front of the place BUT the meat didn't taste smoked at all. I think they cook most of it in the back, if you ask me. I've had smoked meats before so I think this is false advertisement. They even claimed that the Hot BBQ sauce and the baked beans were spicy so they offered me extra water. Whatever! No spice at all.

Well, like I said it is a NEW restaurant so we wanted to try it out. I believe BBQ at home is only good to the person cooking it and their family because they KNOW what they like and what their favorite flavors are. To me it is hit or miss when you go to a restaurant. In my twenties I used to love Outback but now, as you said, we like it better when I make them at home. Just sometimes I would rather go out then cook but I am learning that certain things need to be done at home ....such as BBQ so I do think you are right. I made some wings this week and my kids devoured them but they would never order them if we went out. That makes me happy!
BBQ on, my friend.....I'm gonna try it without DH help this time. ;)
