Off to Japan!

I'm going to be heading off to Japan within the next few months and would love to have a collection of recipes to try out when I get there. Anyone...?

So you want to have a collection of Japanese recipes in English before you go to Japan? A number of my recipes are Japanese (you commented on one), or very inspired by Japanese cooking (like tropical okara granola). I don\'t post anything on this site unless I\'ve made it AND have a photo of it, so it\'s only a tiny portion of my collection. If there is something you are looking for that you\'d like in English, let me know as I have a bookcase full of Japanese recipes in English (and Japanese). I lived in Japan for 2 years, and have made many trips there on business and vacation.

As far as recipe preference goes, I\'m looking for meal ideas that are not overly complicated and are either authentic japanese cuisine or inspired by japanese cuisine. I feel as though the meals that take me to places where I would be required to find the necessary ingredients for authenticity would be great places to get a good sense of the local (and perhaps national) culture. On the other hand, there are a lot of damn good dishes out there that wouldn\'t be included in the category of \"authentic japanese cuisine\" and I\'d love to try them as well. I\'m going to be living in a city called Tokushima (about 250,000 strong) and will have plenty of opportunities to travel and try out different dishes. I don\'t suppose you\'re familiar with the region and/or have any good local recipes? If you don\'t mind me asking, what did you do in those two years you spent working in Japan? I\'m quite curious...
