This was one of my fav creations to make for friends during the hot summer months living on Siesta Key Island off the west coast of Florida.

    "Granny Ginger Smith"

    1/2 Granny Smith Apple
A 1/2 dime size piece of fresh Ginger Root
    1 teaspoon honey
Fill blender with crushed ice - 1/3-1/2 full
    Add 4ozs of water
    Cover and blend

    Enjoy~

Wow Zorro...the addition of ginger sounds quite nice....I will try that next time - i use a strong blender so do you think I should shred the ginger before using in this smoothie?

Here is another I have been doing what seems like every day - love the taste, filled with fiber from the watermelon and kiwi. I have used watermelon that contained the black seeds which simply get pulvarized in my blender, and drink it all down....

    "Banana-kiwi-melon smoothie"

    yields ~32 ounces

    1 Banana
    1 Kiwi, skin removed
2 cups at least of seedless watermelon
    1 teaspoon honey

For those that are naysayers to kiwis, kiwis are one of those amazing fruits that are filled with omega 3, Kiwi also known as the Chinese Gooseberry has large amounts of vitamins not found in other fruits such as:
89% of your daily needs for Vitamin K
    11% of Folate
273% of your daily needs for Vitamin C
21% of your needs for daily fiber
    3% of vitamin E
    16% of your potassium needs

for such a little guy and at $1.00 for three fruits, its a bargain I can afford in my grocery cart when compared to what you get for that one little dollar...

I also use a "commercial strength" and simply plunk the root into the mix and frappe'.......... although since all equipment is abit different I suggest you Xperiment. Love your " H2oMelon-Wi " smoothie ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,loaded sunshine and the big K among others.
