First Thanksgiving Turkey - yech

  This one is easy. I was just learning to cook and didn't know how to make a turkey. I threw the little stopper thing out, thinking it was part of the packaging. The gas stove we used had a leak and didn't work right. It was an unsafe place to rent, LOL. We had to turn the stove on just before dinner to use it, and then turn it off afterwards by crawling underneath the stove to turn it off so it wouldn't leak gas. The burner with the leak would sometimes shoot up flame!
  
  Anyway, I let it cook ALLLL day and it still never got done right. When I finally thought it was, we ate it and it tasted fine. When I went to chop the bottom up to store in the fridge, I saw the bottom half (after over 10 hours of cooking!) was STILL raw and there were veins intact completely. A bad first turkey experience for sure!
