New Low Glycemic Natural Sweetner!

  • marymoonmamma 17 years ago
I've been using palm sugar in its moist state and loving it. NOW, at Whole Foods Market, I found a granulated version. It looks, acts and tastes just like brown sugar. It is all natural. Made from the fruit of the sugar palm. It is a 35 on the glycemic index. The bonus is, it is a sustainable resource and is organic! DOES IT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS? It is called Sweet Tree evaporated Palm Sugar. Another sweet alternative is Agave Nector. Also a 35 and available at healthfood stores everywhere. It tastes like honey and in fact is called vegan honey by we vegheads. I am a vegetarian and a marvelous chef who eats no processed sugar or flour and ONLY whole grains and whole, fresh foods. I have found that spice is the answer to every food question. All three of my adult children were heavy carnivores before I began my odessy into scrumptious vegetarian cuisine 7 years ago. They were grossed out by the idea of tofu, etc. NOW, they ask ME for recipes and are following an omnivorous diet with very little red meat and LOTS of vegetarian bent! I love to share my knowledge. Blessings.
