Saturday's Saturday

    Good Morning Everyone.

Had a good night's sleep. All of us were tired and even LD slept straight thru the night. He usually gets up once or twice to use his 'restroom'. It's sunny and bright but the occasional cloud blocks the sun. We will probably go to the gym this afternoon.
Last night I made Orange Roughy piccata and it came out so good. I bought the Orange Roughy in the freezer section of Costco. The filets are individually packed within the package. I bought it for something different and we've enjoyed it.

Happy to hear you arrived in St. C. safely Janet. Enjoy your stay and visit.

Too funny that nobody likes kale. We enjoy it, well at least Bella and I do. I like kale salads and also add it to smoothies. Two of the restaurants here make kale salads and I bought kale the other day to make my version of the one. The restaurant uses kale, sautéed butternut squash and shallots, quinoa, almonds, and dried cherries. I'll use kale, baked sweet potato, onion, quinoa, almonds, and not sure what else. It will depend if we stop in the grocery store or not.

I have to laugh … I got a text message this morning from one of the landscapers I sought a quote from in early February. Nice guy but young and his quote was approx. $2,000 more than everyone else. His plan was awful, didn't have anything priced out, no names on plants, no design on paper, etc. I didn't want to hurt his feelings but it was clear he was inexperienced. His company cuts grass yet claims to do landscaping. His text noted that he lost my information and got my phone number from my neighbor (he knows the son from church). I politely told him the truth, that his quote is coming in at almost double of everyone else, thanked him again for his time, and told him I'm using another company.
I guess he's mad because his reply was a bit nasty telling me he's like no other company and pays his workers well. OK??? And??? I just left it go.

Linda, you must be lonely in here all by yourself, lol! Glad you got a good night's sleep. Been really muggy up here today. Did finally rain a bit but it just steamed things. Guess our spring is over!

Very productive day for me today. Got right out and to Petsmart to refill Chloe's pantry. Then went to Dollar General and finished off my Easter basket and egg hunt stuff. Then to Publix for some of my groceries, not only for the upcoming week but also Easter dinner. Then to Walmart for all the canned stuff that is sooooo much cheaper there that I needed.

Making Italian sausages on the grill tonight with some cheesy fried potatoes. Then going to Karli's new house to see it. Can't believe she is literally 3 minutes away!! Loving that even though she wasn't far away before. Going to take her some fried potatoes as she has been craving them. She over did herself yesterday and I ordered her to relax today. The cleaning people for the new house did not show when they were suppose to so SHE started in cleaning and cleaned the entire day yesterday! She called the management company and they said they could send the cleaning crew right over. She said, never mind, I'm almost done but this is not what was suppose to happen! They are crediting her $75 on the next rent so at least she got something out of it. But too much inhaling chemicals and elbow grease for her. She is pregnant after all! But like she said, she probably would have re-cleaned after the crew left anyway. She is very particular that way.

    Hope more pop in today!

Yes Kimmer. Feeling like I’m on a deserted island today.
It’s very humid here too and we also got a sprinkling of rain making it even stickier and warmer.
I agree, you got more done today than most people do all week.
Awesome your daughter lives even closer! and with a baby on the way even better! Boo on the cleaning people not showing but then again it doesn’t surprise me, glad they credited her some $ but I think it should be a lot more.

I marinated and grilled chicken for dinner. Cut it in cubes and served over a vegetable rice blend and made a salad.

Well.............was notified that Kevin does not want us to come over tonight because things are not all put together. Really!!!! This guy just lost some points for me. Karli has been after me all day to come over and when we said we were.............now we can't because of Kevin! He's a nut case!! Told her I just wanted to see the house. I don't care that it's full of boxes and want not. Just want to see the house that my daughter, grandson and future grand baby are living in! Told her I was coming anyway and she said, no, was too tired to argue with him. My daughter is paying..........alone for this house because he is still in school and does not have a job! Pissed right now! If she would have come back at me and said, ya we are really tired and not in the mood for company, than I would have understood that! But no! Kevin doesn't want us there until everything is in place. Again................really! Thanks for considering ME family dude! Not happy!

    Good evening.

Our internet was down....at least GR’s server wasn’t able to be located. So since last night I have not been able to log on. I think one of the servers is defective and when we get it then can’t access GR. Does that make sense? I could access FB but it crawled! Ever since the 36 hour outage I have cringed when I can’t get on the site.

Ugh on Kevin’s attitude, Kimmer. Bummer!

Sorry you were sitting on a deserted island Linda! Don’t know if anyone else had the server glitches or maybe Florida’s alligators scared their servers into cooperating.

I Googled “why is group recipe server down” and hit on a site that described GR. The description was inaccurate in the home page description but did give addresses, probably out of date, to contact. Didn’t write it down so would have to re-Google!

Glad it is back. I would really miss chatting with everyone.

We had roast pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon with baked potato and sour cream, and roasted green beans. I can even taste the beans, sour cream, bacon, and Heinz 57 sauce! Makes it easier to actually enjoy the food. Wayne seasoned mainly with pepper....we seldom use salt. Can’t taste garlic, esp. if it is in powder form, latest info I read said a couple months after radiation and taste should return. Yay!

Kale is not something I have tried, mainly bec it requires some preparation and Wayne declines the opportunity to try it

I missed the post that said Janet was in SC so will have to go back. Either that or my horrid internet messed up again. Which is possible.

    Have a nice night!
