~*~ Recipe swap game 2 ~*~

  • geranium 15 years ago
    “...the rules are fairly simple...
The idea, of course, is to get our recipes tried, but also to open us all up to new things!”

Below is a list of recipes that were posted to GR by Refugee members.
Pick a recipe that you are willing to make and add a “comment”, on the thread, that you are going to pick it up.
Then in that same post, you'll add a recipe of yours that you’d like someone else to "pick up" on and try.
The next person to come along will do the same so the list will be ever changing.

If more than, one person wants the same recipe -- that’s okay.
If you want to add two recipes, instead of one -- that’s okay.
If you don’t have a recipe of your own to offer up -- choose a recipe from another Refugee member and offer it.
If you take a recipe then find you can’t make it within a reasonable amount of time (say a couple of weeks) -- then just offer it back up for someone else to take.

Please review them -- both in the "Recipe Review" thread here, as well as on the recipe’s page.
Photos are bonuses, but not required!
Please include the link when “putting up” a recipe and when reviewing a recipe.

So, you "pick one up" and "swap" it with one of your own -- the game continues!

    Have fun -- it’s only a game.

I'm gonna choose 5 recipes from this group...

Okay my first stab at this. I hope I got the rules right.

I'm picking up JimRug1 Carmelized Onion Jam Recipe. I've been wanting to make this forever anyway.

Otterpond... that macaroni & cheese looks yummy! Thanks for playing!!! Another thing is that we usually want to take recipes from the list (^, that I set up), but that's okay!

... or you could take one of the ones that someone else left!

yeah, to get started I think it's fine to start with one you'd like to try, though, Geranium, cus when you put up such a small number to start, it's tough to really hit everyone's taste....so, we did that before, when we first started...just pick a recipe you think looks good, then add your own... otherwise, it would be much longer in between pick ups :)

I prolly wouldn't have picked up any off the original list for a while... so I would have added another if I hadn't taken yours when you chose! hehehe :)

Okay I did it wrong. I thought it was from anything in the group list. The only other one I could make that fits my diet is the red peppers and someone already took that.

No, it's fine, otter....honestly.... you picked from in the group, and that's fine.... don't worry :) As I said, to start, we really need to just pick recipes and get the game moving.... so, go ahead with the onion jam from Jim(I know it's been made and loved, and Jim participated in this game when we started it, originally, even :)

Also, for later reference, you are welcome to make anything that someone else picked up, too...we don't care

again, it's a LAX game, and is intended to be...the idea is simply to get recipes made....there's no specific winner or anything...hopefully, it's all just win/win! :)

Lookin' forward to your review on the onion condiment.... :)

I'm adding this one of mrjwjohnson because he picked up one of mine, but then decided not to really "play", so I'm gonna drop one of his off :)

I've already made one of his....with another on deck for this week...and this one I will be making at some point, too, but will drop it off in case anyone else is in the mood for fish :)

    hehehe...maybe we'll just call it enthusiastic ;)

I love the game, but certainly not everyone can find the time to play...that's why we just gotta let it happen when it happens...a few of us(Lillian, mommyluvs, me, you, Lark) try to make others' recipes fairly often, but others just, as I said, don't think about it or aren't as focused on it....

we'll take whatever participation we can get ;)

are you a member of Lillian's I Made It group? I think you'd enjoy that one, too! :)

yeah, I'm a member, but I don't really understand the rules... wanna fill me in? ;) I'm still trying to get Lark to join this group! Not going too well tho... Cya!

The I Made It Group is just a place to post when you make a recipe from GR...ANY recipe from GR :) This tells us which recipes have honestly been tried, since you can't really tell by the ratings around here! hehehehe

Just m ake a recipe, leave a review on the recipe's page, and a photo, if possible, then add it ot the I Made It group, and start a thread sayin' you made it... easy peasy lemon shake up! ;) :) :)
