My former son- in -law came from Nicaragua as a small boy and worked hard to get a great education and become a citizen (he is a great guy) and one time his mother invited me to dinner (she speaks no English).....well.....
I was taught you never ask a Host what they are serving, just eat it and be polite. had a hard time eating it because I was not used the to meat flavors and they were strong-tasting....I was eating parts of some animal that I'd never heard of!
A friend later told me that in his culture, they eat every part, nothing gets wasted...not even the eyeballs.....yikes!
