Preserving the season

    Last weekend a farmer friend gave me a box of tomato "seconds" to do with as I pleased. I spent a couple of days peeling, cooking and freezing some incredibly good and fresh tomatoes that will be awaiting me come winter. I've made my squickles wih some of the multitudes of squash I've gotten from various friends. I'd still like to can some tomatoes (when it's not quite so hot) and maybe some green beans.
