Does anyone know how to make candy covered peanuts?

  I have a Thai student living with me and a friend of hers brought over some candy covered peanuts she made. She tried to explain it but the language barrier made it difficult to understand. She said you take raw peanuts and boil with sugar, then you add something like instant coffee and malt o meal?? Not sure how she did it but if anyone knows what I am talking about, I would love to know. Or.... if you can translate Thai, I can get the recipie off the internet I think?
