Chinese Long Bean Salad W Tangerines And Sherry-Mustard Vinaigrette

In this recipe if you can not find long beans you can substitute regular green beans...
this recipe is from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park NY.... the chef notes that......Vinaigrette, a classic cold sauce, can be modified by replacing two parts of the oil with a starch-thickened stock or juice, resulting in a lower fat sauce that actually coats food better than classic vinaigrette. If the stock or juice is full-flavored, the modified version can be even more flavorful than the original.

Tangerine Chiffon Cake

I got this recipe from Good Housekeeping (pic is from GH, too). Delicious cake; the sweet glaze complements the delicate tangerine taste of the cake. Surprisingly moist for a chiffon cake. Edited 9/29/08 - I added the candy daffodils recipe to this, so you can replicate it as pictured. I did not make the candy daffodils with the cake when I made it in the past, so it is untested. When I remake this cake and post my own picture, I may eliminate the recipe for the daffodils, as I likely won't make them (I prefer just the glaze as decoration.
