Chinky's Puto Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c margarine, softened
  • 1 c water
  • 1 1/4 c white sugar
  • 2 3/4 c cake flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsps baking powder
  • 1/2 c evaporated milk

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Mix together the cake flour, sugar & baking powder.
  • Step #3 Pour in the water & evaporated milk & stir well.
  • Step #4 Mix in the eggs & butter or margarine.
  • Step #5 Pour the mixture into molds or muffin pans.
  • Step #6 Find a baking pan that your muffin pan will comfortable fit in.
  • Step #7 Pull the oven rack out a little (perhaps 1/4 out of the oven) & place the baking pan (with the muffin pan inside it) on the rack.
  • Step #8 VERY CAREFULLY pour about 4 c of hot tap water into the baking pan which holds the muffin pan.
  • Step #9 Then VERY SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY slide the rack completely into the oven.
  • Step #10 Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for about 15 mins or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  • Step #11 Be VERY CAREFUL not to burn your hands with hot water or steam when you remove the muffins from the oven.
  • Step #12 Top with grated cheese.
