Cheesy Mushroom Burgers Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c sliced fresh mushrooms .
  • 1 c shredded monterey jack cheese .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1/4 c finely sliced onions .
  • 1 lb lean ground beef .
  • 3 tbsps oil, divided .
  • 2 tbsps milk .
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper .
  • 4 crusty French rolls, toasted .
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme .
  • 3 tbsps breadcrumbs .
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat 2 tbsps oil in large skillet on medium high heat.
  • Step #2 Add mushrooms, onion & garlic.
  • Step #3 Sauté 5 mins, stirring often, or until onions are soft.
  • Step #4 Scrape mixture into mixing bowl.
  • Step #5 Wipe out skillet with paper towels.
  • Step #6 Combine mushroom mixture with beef, bread crumbs, salt, cheese, milk, pepper & thyme & mix well.
  • Step #7 Form 4 ovals in shape & size of rolls.
  • Step #8 Heat remaining 1 tbsp oil in wiped out skillet on medium high heat.
  • Step #9 Add burgers & cook 4 to 5 mins.
  • Step #10 Turn with spatula & cook 4 to 5 mins more, or to desired doneness.
