Salt And Pepper Calamari Recipe

Ingredients
  • 200 g fresh breadcrumbs or dry breadcrumbs .
  • 1/2 c flour .
  • vegetable oil, for deep-frying .
  • 1/4 c milk .
  • 1 tsp szechwan pepper .
  • 500 g squid rings .
  • 2 tsps sea salt .
  • 1 egg .
  • 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 150 degrees Celsius.
  • Step #2 (not sure why).
  • Step #3 Lightly dust calamari with flour shaking off any excess.
  • Step #4 Then dip in to the mixd egg & milk.
  • Step #5 Combine breadcrumbs, sea salt & peppers in a shallow bowl, & coat calamari in this mixture.
  • Step #6 Transfer to a plate & place this in the fridge for 20 mins.
  • Step #7 Heat oil in saucepan & deep-fry calamari in batches until golden brown.
  • Step #8 Drain on paper towels.
  • Step #9 Serve with some sweet chilli sauce.
