Step #1 Brown the sausage In a large-ish skillet over med-heat/flame (add oil to skillet if needed); crumble the sausage while browning.
Step #2 Transfer sausage to a large bowl, using a slotted spoon.
Step #3 Add onion, apple, celery, & 1 tbsp oil (if needed) to the skillet.
Step #4 Stir/saute until tender; remove skillet from heat.
Step #5 Add water & margerine to a saucepan; bring to a boil; remove pan from heat.
Step #6 In a mixing bowl, mix stuffing mix with water/margarine mixture; toss lightly until moist throughout (add more water if you prefer moister stuffing).
Step #7 Add fennel seeds to stuffing mixture; stir this to mix.
Step #8 Add stuffing mixture & onion mixture to the large bowl w/ sausage; mix throughly.
Step #9 Transfer to a baking pan sprayed w/ cooking spray.
