Apple And Sausage Stuffing Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 lb sweet Italian sausage .
  • 1/2 c margarine .
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced .
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds .
  • 1 apple, peeled, cored, & sliced .
  • 1 lb herb seasoned stuffing mix .
  • 1 large onion, sliced .
  • 1 tbsp oil .
  • 2 1/2 c water

Directions
  • Step #1 Brown the sausage In a large-ish skillet over med-heat/flame (add oil to skillet if needed); crumble the sausage while browning.
  • Step #2 Transfer sausage to a large bowl, using a slotted spoon.
  • Step #3 Add onion, apple, celery, & 1 tbsp oil (if needed) to the skillet.
  • Step #4 Stir/saute until tender; remove skillet from heat.
  • Step #5 Add water & margerine to a saucepan; bring to a boil; remove pan from heat.
  • Step #6 In a mixing bowl, mix stuffing mix with water/margarine mixture; toss lightly until moist throughout (add more water if you prefer moister stuffing).
  • Step #7 Add fennel seeds to stuffing mixture; stir this to mix.
  • Step #8 Add stuffing mixture & onion mixture to the large bowl w/ sausage; mix throughly.
  • Step #9 Transfer to a baking pan sprayed w/ cooking spray.
  • Step #10 Bake in a 350° oven for 30 mins.
