Step #1
In a large pot over med-heat/flame, broccoli, mix broth, onion, carrots & bay leaf.
Step #2 Bring to a boil, then reduce heat & let simmer until vegetables are tender.
Step #3 Remove bay leaf.
Step #4 (At this point, then return them to the pot, you may remove the broccoli stalks, carrots & onion & puree in a food processor/blender, if desired.
