Ingredients
  • 1 (8 oz) package sliced dates
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 1/2 c sliced pecans
  • 3 egg whites

Directions
  • Step #1 In a mixing bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
  • Step #2 Gradually add sugar; beat until stiff peaks form, about 6 mins.
  • Step #3 Beat in vanilla.
  • Step #4 Fold in dates & pecans.
  • Step #5 Drop by rounded tspfuls 2 in.
  • Step #6 apart onto lightly greased baking sheets.
  • Step #7 Bake at 325F degrees F for 12-15 mins or until firm to the touch.
  • Step #8 Remove to wire racks to cool.
  • Step #9 Store in an airtight container.
