Easy Cajun Pepper Steak Saute Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (14 oz) can sliced tomatoes, undrained .
  • 2 tbsps cornstarch .
  • 1 bay leaf .
  • 1 onion, sliced .
  • 1 (14 oz) can beef broth .
  • 1 tbsp minced fresh garlic (or to taste) .
  • 3-4 tbsps oil .
  • salt & pepper .
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced .
  • 2 tbsps cold water .
  • 1/2 tsp cajun-like seasoning (or to taste) .
  • 1/2 tbsp worcestershire sauce (or to taste) .
  • 2 tbsps HP steak sauce (optional, but good to use) .
  • 2 lbs boneless beef roast, cut into cubes (I use sirloin steak for this, but you can use any cut desired)

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large skillet, brown the beef cubes in hot oil over med-heat/flame; drain fat.
  • Step #2 Stir in broth, tomatoes, green pepper, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce & seasoings.
  • Step #3 Bring to a boil; reduce heat & let simmer for about 1 hr, or until meat is tender.
  • Step #4 Discard bay leaf.
  • Step #5 In a small bowl, mix cornstarch & water until smooth.
  • Step #6 Stir into simmering sauce, & cook for about 2 mins, or until thickened.
  • Step #7 Serve with rice or noodles.
