Ingredients
  • 1 c butter, room temperature .
  • 1/4 tsp salt .
  • 2 1/2 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1-2 tsp water, if needed .
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract .
  • 1/2 c sugar .
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten

Directions
  • Step #1 This will yield 2 c of dough.
  • Step #2 If you are using it as a starter base, it will depend on the recipe as to how many cookies it will make.
  • Step #3 Using it by itself, it should yield about 7.
  • Step #4 5 dozen.
  • Step #5 Preheat oven to 350F (175C).
  • Step #6 Do not put in the fridge cookie dough.
  • Step #7 Fill a cookie press with dough as manufacturer directs.
  • Step #8 Select plate & fit onto press.
  • Step #9 Press dough onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Step #10 Sprinkle top with colored sugar.
  • Step #11 Bake 10 to 12 mins or only until cookies are firm & lightly browned around edges.
  • Step #12 Do not overbake.
  • Step #13 Cool on a rack.
