Step #1 In a large mixing bowl, mix frosting & powdered sugar.
Step #2 Stir with wooden spoon until well mixed.
Step #3 Chop 1/3 c pecan halves; set aside.
Step #4 Cover up remaining pecan halves with 1 tbsp frosting mixture each.
Step #5 In a 2-c glass measuring c, microwave chocolate chips & shortening at MEDIUM (50% power) for 2 mins; stir.
Step #6 Microwave 1 min at MEDIUM; stir until smooth.
Step #7 Dip one candy ball into chocolate mixture until completely covered.
Step #8 Remove with fork to cooling rack.
Step #9 Sprinkle top top this with sliced pecans.
Step #10 Repeat until all candy balls are covered.
Step #11 Allow to stand until chocolate mixture is set.
