Ingredients

1 c sugar .
2 egg whites, beaten stiff .
1/2 c Crisco .
1 c brown sugar, packed .
1 1/2 c flour .
3/4 c sliced pecans .
1/2 tsp salt .
2 large eggs .
1 tsp baking powder .
FIRST LAYER .
SECOND LAYER .
1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions

Step #1 Cream Crisco & sugar & add eggs, well beaten.
Step #2 Add salt & vanilla -- sift baking powder with flour & mix well.
Step #3 Spread in long shallow pan & cover with second layer.
Step #4 & bake in 350°.
Step #5 Cut into squares when cool.
Step #6 Bake till browned.
Step #7 Be sure to note the size of pan & baking times to correct before posting.
