Chinese Egg Rolls Recipe

Ingredients
  • 12 egg roll wraps .
  • 1/4 c soy sauce .
  • 2 tsps sliced fresh ginger .
  • oil (for frying) .
  • 4 green onions, sliced .
  • 1 (16 oz) bag shredded cabbage & carrot coleslaw mix (not quite the whole bag) .
  • 1 tsp sesame oil .
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 1/2-1 lb ground pork (or chicken or beef) .
  • 1 tsp water .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 1 tsp sugar .
  • 1 egg, beaten with

Directions
  • Step #1 Brown pork with ginger & garlic in pan; drain any grease.
  • Step #2 Mix salt, sugar, soy sauce & sesame oil.
  • Step #3 Add to pork & mix well.
  • Step #4 In large bowl mix cabbage mix & green onions.
  • Step #5 Pour hot meat over vegetables & stir well.
  • Step #6 Let cool slightly.
  • Step #7 Lay wrap in front of you so that it looks like a diamond.
  • Step #8 Place 3 tbsps pork filling in center of eggroll wrapper.
  • Step #9 Fold bottom point up over filling & roll once.
  • Step #10 Fold in right & left points.
  • Step #11 Brush beaten egg on top point.
  • Step #12 Finish rolling.
  • Step #13 Set aside & repeat with remaining filling.
  • Step #14 Heat 2-3 inches oil in large frying pan to very hot (350º).
  • Step #15 Fry a few eggrolls in pan at a time, 2-3 mins per side.
  • Step #16 Drain on paper towels.
  • Step #17 Serve with sweet & sour sauce, plulm sauce, hoisin sauce or jalapeno pepper jelly.
