Gavachi Kheer Recipe

Ingredients
  • 500 ml milk .
  • 250 g jaggery .
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder .
  • 1 tbsp raisins .
  • 5 tbsps ghee .
  • 1 tbsp cashew nuts (sliced) .
  • 250 g wheat

Directions
  • Step #1 Clean the wheat, wash two to three times with plenty of water & then soak overnight.
  • Step #2 Drain & then grind into a coarse paste.
  • Step #3 Grate the jaggery & set aside.
  • Step #4 Heat the ghee in a heavy-based pan, add the ground wheat & cook on a low heat for ten to fifteen mins.
  • Step #5 Add the milk & cook, stirring continuously.
  • Step #6 If the mixture becomes too dry, add a little water.
  • Step #7 Add the grated jaggery & stir until it has dissolved.
  • Step #8 Add the green cardamom powder & half the quantity of cashew nuts & raisins.
  • Step #9 Cook until the mixture is thick & of pouring consistency.
  • Step #10 Serve hot or at about room temp, garnished with the remaining cashew nuts & raisins.
