Step #3 In a medium saucepan, melt butter or margarine.
Step #4 Remove melted butter or margarine from heat, add cocoa, & stir until well mixed.
Step #5 Add sugar & mix well.
Step #6 Add eggs, one at a time, & beat well.
Step #7 Stir in vanilla, flour & salt.
Step #8 DO NOT OVERBEAT.
Step #9 Fold in nuts, if desired.
Step #10 Spread in prepared glass pan & bake 25 to 30 mins, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, but sides are not yet hard & crusty.
Step #11 Cool completely before topping with icing.
Step #12 FUDGE ICING:.
Step #13 In a small bowl, cocoa, beat melted butter, corn syrup & vanilla until mixed.
Step #14 Add powdered sugar & water, & beat (by hand with a wisk) until spreading consistency.
Step #15 After spreading icing onto cooled brownies, cool in fridge for at least 45 mins.
