Chocolate Velvet Cheesecake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c packed brown sugar .
  • 1 c vanilla wafer crumbs .
  • 1/4 c butter, melted .
  • 2 c sour cream .
  • 3 tbsps almond flavored liqueur (or 2 tbsps milk mixed with 1/4 tsp. almond extract) .
  • 1 c semisweet chocolate pieces, melted .
  • 3 tbsps sugar .
  • 2 tbsps sugar .
  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened .
  • 1/2 c sliced pecans

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine crumbs, pecans, sugar & butter; press onto bottom of 9 inch springform pan.
  • Step #2 Bake at 325F degrees for 10 mins.
  • Step #3 Combine cream cheese & brown sugar until well mixed with electric mixer.
  • Step #4 Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well.
  • Step #5 Blend in chocolate & liqueur; pour over crust.
  • Step #6 Bake at 325F degrees for 35 mins.
  • Step #7 Increase oven temperature to 425F degrees.
  • Step #8 Combine sour cream & sugar; carefully spread over cheesecake.
  • Step #9 Bake at 425F degrees for 10 mins.
  • Step #10 Cool & chill in the fridge.
