Coconut Macaroons German Style Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 3/4 c flaked coconut, toasted
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  • Step #3 In a large bowl, whip egg whites with an electric mixer until stiff enough to make a mark through with a knife.
  • Step #4 Gradually sprinkle in the sugar, cinnamon & almond extract while continuing to mix on lowish speed.
  • Step #5 Fold in toasted coconut by hand.
  • Step #6 Spoon or scoop onto the prepared cookie sheets.
  • Step #7 Bake for 20 to 25 mins in the preheated oven, until cookies are dry & peel of the paper easily.
  • Step #8 Cool on wire racks & store this in an airtight container at about room temp.
