Cooked Fruit Salad Dressing Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (20 oz) can pineapple chunks
  • 3 tbsps lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 c orange juice
  • 2/3 c sugar
  • 1/2 tsp butter or margarine
  • 1 egg, beaten

Directions
  • Step #1 Drain pineapple, reserving the juice.
  • Step #2 Set pineapple aside for salad.
  • Step #3 In a saucepan, mix sugar & cornstarch.
  • Step #4 Stir in the pineapple juice, orange juice & lemon juice.
  • Step #5 Add egg, mix well.
  • Step #6 Cook over med-heat/flame, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened & bubbly.
  • Step #7 Reduce heat; cook & stir 2 mins more.
  • Step #8 Remove from the heat & stir in the butter.
  • Step #9 Cover & chill.
  • Step #10 Serve over a mixture of fresh or canned fruit.
