Fig And Gruyère Palmiers Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (17.3-oz) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 c (8 oz) shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1/2 c fig preserves, melted

Directions
  • Step #1 Roll one puff pastry sheet into a 14" x 10" rectangle.
  • Step #2 Sprinkle top with 1 c Gruyère cheese.
  • Step #3 Roll each short side, jellyroll fashion, to meet in center.
  • Step #4 Repeat procedure with remaining puff pastry sheet & cheese.
  • Step #5 Cut each roll this into 1/4" slices.
  • Step #6 Place slices on parchment paper-lined baking sheets; brush with melted preserves.
  • Step #7 Bake at 400° for 8 to 10 mins or until golden.
  • Step #8 Serve warm.
  • Step #9 Make Ahead: You can make these pastries ahead & freeze the uncut, unbaked rolls.
  • Step #10 Wrap rolls in heavy-duty plastic wrap, & freeze.
  • Step #11 To serve, let rolls stand at about room temp 10 mins before slicing.
  • Step #12 Brush with preserves & bake as above.
