Ingredients
  • 8 oz Gruyère, grated
  • 1 loaf (about 1 lb) country-style bread, very thinly sliced
  • 1/3 c olive oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat oven to 375° F.
  • Step #2 Place the bread on baking sheets.
  • Step #3 Lightly brush the tops with the oil, then sprinkle lightly & evenly with the cheese.
  • Step #4 Bake until crisp & golden, about 15 mins.
  • Step #5 Break each slice into large pieces.
  • Step #6 Serve warm or at about room temp.
  • Step #7 In Advance: Make the cheese crisps early in the day, then store them at about room temp.
