Ingredients
8 oz Gruyère, grated
1 loaf (about 1 lb) country-style bread, very thinly sliced
1/3 c olive oil
Directions
Step #1 Heat oven to 375° F.
Step #2 Place the bread on baking sheets.
Step #3 Lightly brush the tops with the oil, then sprinkle lightly & evenly with the cheese.
Step #4 Bake until crisp & golden, about 15 mins.
Step #5 Break each slice into large pieces.
Step #6 Serve warm or at about room temp.
Step #7 In Advance: Make the cheese crisps early in the day, then store them at about room temp.
