Mushroom Crostini Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps minced fresh or 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  •  Thyme sprigs (optional)
  • 8 (1/2-inch-thick) Italian bread slices, toasted (about 4 oz)
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 2 1/2 c sliced crimini mushrooms (about 8 oz)
  • 1/2 tsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 garlic clove, halved
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 c sliced button mushrooms
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat oil in a medium nonstick skillet over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #2 Add mushrooms & salt; stir well.
  • Step #3 Cover up & cook for 5 mins.
  • Step #4 Increase heat to medium-high; add minced thyme, flour, & cook for 1 min, & pepper, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #5 Rub cut sides of garlic over bread slices.
  • Step #6 Spoon 2 tbsps mushroom mixture onto each bread slice.
  • Step #7 Garnish with thyme sprigs, if desired.
