Breakfast Turkey Sausage Patties Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 large Fuji apple
  • 1 3/4 tsps salt
  • 1/2 tsp dried crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 c sliced fresh parsley
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 c finely sliced fresh sage
  • 2 tsps olive oil
  • 1 1/4 lbs lean ground turkey

Directions
  • Step #1 Peel & core apple; coarsely shred apple with a hand grater.
  • Step #2 Place in a wire-mesh strainer; drain well, pressing carefully with paper towels.
  • Step #3 Combine apple, garlic, & next 7 ingredients in a bowl; stir until mixed.
  • Step #4 Shape mixture into 16 patties (about 2 tbsps each).
  • Step #5 Place patties on a wax paper-lined baking sheet.
  • Step #6 Cover up & chill 8 hrs or overnight.
  • Step #7 Heat oil In a large-ish nonstick skillet over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #8 Cook patties, in batches, about 6 mins on each side or until browned & done.
  • Step #9 Note: Make patties ahead by wrapping in wax paper & heavy-duty aluminum foil wrap & freezing up to 2 weeks.
  • Step #10 Thaw frozen patties overnight in the refrigerator, & cook as directed.
