Ingredients
  • 2 c soft breadcrumbs
  • 8 medium turnips
  • 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 tsps salt
  • 2 tbsps sugar
  • 1/2 c butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 Peel turnips; cut into 1-inch cubes.
  • Step #2 Arrange turnips in a steamer basket over boiling water.
  • Step #3 Cover up & steam 25 mins or until tender.
  • Step #4 Mash turnips with a potato masher; stir in the eggs & remaining ingredients.
  • Step #5 Spoon mixture into a lightly greased 11- x 7-inch baking dish.
  • Step #6 Bake mixture at 375° for 1 hr.
