Turkey Breakfast Sausage Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  •  Cooking spray
  • 1/2 c shredded peeled Fuji or Braeburn apple
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp sliced fresh or 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 c finely sliced onion
  • 2 lbs ground turkey breast
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp sliced fresh or 1 tsp dried rubbed sage

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Step #2 Add onion & apple; sauté 3 mins.
  • Step #3 Add garlic; sauté 30 seconds.
  • Step #4 Remove onion mixture from pan; cool completely.
  • Step #5 Combine onion mixture, sage, thyme, pepper, & turkey, salt, stirring well to mix.
  • Step #6 Divide mixture into 24 equal portions, shaping each into a 1/2-inch-thick patty.
  • Step #7 Heat a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #8 Add half of patties; cook 3 mins on each side or until done.
  • Step #9 Keep warm.
  • Step #10 Repeat procedure with remaining patties.
