Peppery Ginger Snap Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 tbsps white sugar .
  • 1 tsp baking soda .
  • 1 large egg .
  • 2 tsps ground ginger .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1/2 c white sugar .
  • 1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper .
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon .
  • 2 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1/2 c dark molasses .
  • 3/4 c Butter Flavor Crisco

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #2 Combine all dry ingredients except for sugar.
  • Step #3 Cream Crisco & sugar until light & fluffy.
  • Step #4 Add egg, mix in well.
  • Step #5 Add molasses, mix in well.
  • Step #6 Reduce speed to low & incorporate the flour mix.
  • Step #7 When dought forms, chill about 30-40 min Form 1 inch balls & roll in 3T of sugar & place 2 inches apart on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
  • Step #8 Bake until set, 9-11 min Rotate & turn cookie sheets halfway through cooking time.
  • Step #9 Crack that appear on the top of the cookie will appear moist.
  • Step #10 Coll 1 min on the cookie sheet then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Step #11 Store in an airtight container.
